10

After weeks of not going to training with the American Heart Association, I finally went yesterday and did 10 miles!  I'm still doing an interval of 2 minute run/3 minute walk, but I think I'm finally ready to step it up a little notch and I'm going to probably do a 3/2.

As hard as it is for me to get up early on a Saturday morning, I have to say I really love running in Griffith Park, even with all of the construction!  I love the scenery, the variety of routes & trails, and the comraderie.  Not just with Lynnette and Sarah, or with our training group, but also with all of the runners there.  I love seeing people pushing themselves at whatever level they're at, and I love that everyone is so friendly, giving a nod or cheering each on because we are all doing the same thing.

And you know what I love, love, love the most?  The water stops.  I live for them on our long runs.  So thank you, START Training (that's the name of our training group), for always having great energy boosters - gatorade, pretzels, orange wedges, jelly beans and especially the goldfish and the dark chocolate M&Ms at last week's training , and thank you too to A Runner's Circle for your stop!  By the way, I'm totally going to plug them because I heart Joe and his store - If you ever need running shoes and you like knowledgeable and friendly salespeople, definitely hit them up on Los Feliz and Riverside Dr.  I never buy my shoes anywhere else 'cuz I know that I'm well taken care of there.

Wish me luck for this week!  And thanks Mom and Dad for your donation and Happy 40th Anniversary!
